The Theology of Yoda. Religion in Thought, Mind and Choice.

I've always looked at Yoda as the old wise-man from the films I saw as a kid. As I have grown older I realized that there is some truth to the statements that were made in George Lucas' films of Intergalactic War and Religious beliefs. There are many ways to interpret what is being said. Though many would want you to read the bible or listen the theological views about what is actually being said, I've learned that not everything that people study is interpreted the same way.
  We all see things the way we want to see them and that doesn't mean we are wrong or evil for seeing it that way. Though choosing to think that your version is the only truth and persecute anyone else who thinks differently is the wrong way. No one ever thinks the same way as anyone else. Some may believe in the same thing but the way they interpret it and act on it will differ dramatically.  Some may not even believe what they are told because they feel they need to learn it in their own way, or find the truth behind it.

  I think it's one of the truest form of Free Will. Even when we are told something that is absolutely true, we still want to search for more to find out if it really is true. I have been Catholic since I was baptized as a baby. Throughout my time with the religion I have had encounters with other people and religious orders that don't believe the exact same thing I do. Many in my own church don't believe in the teachings of Catholicism the same way I do. I don't think they are wrong or misinterpreting it. I honestly think they are just as right as I am. But what I do have a problem is when they try and force their beliefs on someone else.
  Religion and faith are just as much a choice of turning left or right on a road. You can believe in something and follow the path that is set before you, but no one says you have to believe it the same as everyone else. You have a choice in how you act and interpret what your religion teaches.  Now some might say I'm talking Heresy,  but that is their opinion.  I can think and believe in whatever I want and that is mine to choose. No one can make me believe in something. I can even say I believe in something  that someone tells me to believe and not actually believe it.  I'm not saying that I do, but I have the choice to do so.

  In a manner of speaking Yoda points this out in his statement  in the film "The Empire Strikes Back" of  "No, Try Not. Do or Do Not, There is no Try".  This can be interpreted as many things. But one is that don't do something unless you believe you can. This is then solidified when Yoda lifts the ship when Luke couldn't. Luke then approaches Yoda saying..." I don't....I don't believe it." Yoda responds with, "That is why you fail." When looking at it from a view of choice, Luke choose not to completely believe that he could lift the ship. He gave into his fear of failing in the task, which was the result.  If you choose to believe in something, you need to go in to that believe with commitment. Otherwise you won't find what you're looking for.
  You can see aspects of this in every day life. If you want to do something but you don't go into it with all your ability, you probably won't get the satisfaction that you thought you would.  From as simple as putting a model together, or playing a video game, to planning a wedding , a charity event or your professional career. You can't just put in the bare-minimum effort and expect it to work out exactly as you want.  You have to commit yourself into that task till it is completed. Only by placing yourself all the way forward behind what you want, will you succeed.  It comes down to making the choice of "Do or Do Not".

  In another way, you can look at Yoda's view of  "Fear leads to Anger, Anger Leads to Hate, Hate leads to Suffering." as a statement of religious views.  Many people don't believe in what other people believe in. Because of this fear and resentment can form for other religions because people are content with what is being taught about life. Because of this fear and doubt that ones religions isn't giving them the satisfaction that another's religion is can lead to anger that they are being cheated or that everything they believe in is false. This aspect can fester and people begin to show aggression against those people that believe differently then them. They can think, 'Why are they so content? Why don't I feel that content with what I have been taught? Why is it so easy for them?'  This can then manifest as Hatred for the religion and the people who follow it. Hatred can spread to others and fighting can start both in words and in physical violence. Finally becoming suffering on both sides. Both sides give into the fear, anger, and hatred of the other religious beliefs and they all suffer because of it.
  Once again there is always a choice in how you feel about things.  If you choose to fear something because it is different or isn't how you see it should be, then you can't see everything about it.  Don't instantly judge something without taking a good look at it, especially when dealing with interpreting what someone says and what someone believes. You have a choice to see things as they are and not as someone else sees them. Instead of following the crowd in what they see, look at it yourself and try to see what it actually is. Curiosity has always been one of the strongest drives for human beings. Discovery of new and different things is the corner stone of our society. We choose to go out and explore what is the world around us and find out for ourselves what is going on.  You can listen to what other people say, but that doesn't mean you have to believe it. You have that choice.

 Just like what I'm saying in this blog. It is just my opinion. I'm not saying I'm right and you have to believe what I say. I could be wrong and mis-interpreting all of it. But that is your choice, just as mine was to post this online for everyone to see and get the opinions of them. I'm not giving into the fear of rejection and criticism. I'm embracing it for the benefit of learning and experiencing life.

I'm sorry dudeS but I have to go with George on this. It's his creation and he gets to do whatever the heck he wants with it. Just because everyone else saw what they wanted doesn't make it right. He Created Star Wars, thus he can change it. Honestly we should be happy and grateful he created it at all and shared it with all of us.

Honestly I'm really getting sick and tired of all this. Granted I think it did make Han Solo super cool that he shot Greedo first. But to be honest, I also held it against him that he did that later on when I saw the footage of Jabba meeting him at the Falcon. Things might have been different if he hadn't shot Greedo first.

But we can argue this "till the cows come home". The point I'm trying to make is that George Lucas gave us all a gift....STAR WARS! Regardless of what he does with the series and the changes he makes, it belongs to him. He created it, he stood by it and he has been made famous by it. People love this series for all that it is, was and will be. I've been a fan of the series since I was a kid and I can't say I'm overly disappointed at all with the changes and improvements he has made to the series.  Because it's not my place to be angry at something that I have no right to be. It's not mine! Nor is it yours or anybody else's Except George Lucas!

He Created one of the most famous and incredibly unique series in Film history! Everyone who has come after him has built off of what he started and did. The themes and metaphors he used in this series has been around for years, long before he even started writing the script.  He is simply trying to build a better mouse trap with what he has already done. People say that it wasn't broke so stop trying to fix it. Well your wrong! To his wonderfully creative eye, it is broken and he feels he needs to fix it. Why does he get to make that decision and not you? BECAUSE HE CREATED IT!!

  So please people, Fanboys and all. Stop harassing this truly magnificent man for giving us this blessing that is Star Wars and stop making it out that he did something wrong, when really he's doing what should have always been. It just took longer for him to get there. For that I am Truly grateful to George Lucas for giving me a treasure that I have been enjoying again and again since I was a child. I'm going to go see Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in the theaters because I love the movie and I want George Lucas to get what he deserves. My Thanks.

Sony PS3 Hacker- He's both right and wrong.

I think what this guy (George Hotz)is doing is both good and bad. He is bringing to light information that people need to know about how Sony looks at the consumers and about the tech they work with.  Granted he went the wrong way around doing it, but if your going to boast about your system being so great, then don't be going into a tantrum because someone proved you wrong and then made the info public. to be honest I'm not a computer programmer, though I wanted to in college but couldn't get past the math. I could write C++ but the grade needed the math to equal it. The point is I have a good understanding about what this is about but I'm no expert, just a guy with a keyboard.

  Hackers have been going to to supposedly secure sites and hardware for years trying to figure out the systems and showing where the flaws are in the systems and showing their skill as programmers.  I honestly respect these people because they are skilled at something and enjoy what they are doing

 Hackers are needed in our day/age to show where the problems are so we can fix them. Hell if we had hackers working on the School systems, so many problems would be solved.

 But I think most people don't know the difference between a Hacker and a Cracker.  Though they may go by different names there is a very obvious difference between a person who breaks into a companies computer system and what they do once they have accomplished this.

Most Hackers go to the task of breaking into a system just to prove that they can do it.  Its like a wood carver going out into the forest, cutting down and tree and then carving the tree down into a 5 piece bedroom set. He wanted to do it, he had to tools so he did it. And the key aspect is, he did no real harm in the process.  This is what hackers do. They go into a system and break through the walls of encryption and find their way through. Once inside, they will copy the information and either send it to the company or post it online as a trophy, usually informing the company that they succeeded. What normally follows is either a suing process or a job application.  Most often both happen.  They sue the hacker and then offer them a job to work on the system.

 Now a Cracker is a whole different type of computer programmer. These are the guys who do the same thing as a hacker but once inside the system they don't just copy a little info. These guys do damage. They take the information and then use or sell it to competing companies for profit. They infect the system with a virus or viruses and cause corruption of the system and causing millions of dollars in damage (dollars as in work hours trying to undo the damage and replacing equipment).  This is where terms like malicious malware, virus, spam, and other terms come from.   

 What Holtz did shouldn't really be dragged through the court systems and waste time and money, though I guess someone thinks this is a worth-while cause to fight.  I mean if the guy can jailbreak the iPhone and PS3, imagine if he got a job at Google?! I'd love for this guy to work for a major newspaper or computer/gaming news group so he could do it with all computer and gaming systems so we can have access to what the creators won't let us have.  Hell he' doing what most MOD'ers do on their favorite video games. He's giving people a new way to use the product. I know a lot of low-income families would love to use their PS3 the same as a home computer. Hell its a lot cheaper the putting up the funds for a $1,000.00 laptop and it works on your TV. I can think of a ton of college kids who would pay the price of a PS3 to get what would usually cost a lot more on a Desktop PC. And it comes with Bluetooth!! Like TBBT says, "everything is better with Bluetooth."
